Human Resource Management
Executive MS & Executive MBA
Focuses on the management of human resources in organizations, specifically how HRM affects individuals, organizations, and society through its impact on individual productivity, quality of work life, and organizational performance. Students become familiar with all aspects of human resource management in modern organizations, explore the theoretical and empirical knowledge bases that support HRM practice, and develop the skills required to understand and administer HRM policies and programs. In addition, the course puts an emphasis on understanding (and managing) the ethical dilemmas often associated with making HR decisions.
Personality in Organizations
Doctoral Seminar
This seminar starts out by reviewing some of the basics in personality theory and measurement before discussing issues of construct- and criterion-related validity for a variety of criteria. We critically examine question such as: How can one best use personality measures in personnel decisions? What are some concerns and non-concerns about using personality scales in applied settings? Current empirical research and illustrative applied examples from the field address concerns about predictive validity, social desirability, utility, cross-cultural applications, and potential adverse impact of personality measures.
Staffing and Personnel
International Executive Program in Singapore & Taiwan
Focuses on the role of staffing systems in modern organizations. The course is tailored to advanced executive students and is taught in two intense weekend sessions (6 days total). Provides an in-depth look at how staffing and personnel decisions affect individuals and organizations through their impact on individual productivity, quality of work life, and organizational performance. Upon successful completion of the course, students understand how important aspects of personnel decision making in modern organizations and are linked to business strategy, are able to compare and contrast employee selection systems used in different organizations, and apply advanced skills in understanding and administering personnel policies and programs.
Human Capital and the Triple Bottom Line

Provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand and analyze the relationship between employee behavior and organizational productivity, conceptualized as the “triple bottom line” – the interconnectedness of economic, social, and environmental sustainability. How can principles of environmentally sustainable business be achieved through human capital? Students gain a strong understanding of how organizational-level variables relate to (and motivate) employees’ responsible behaviors; how to select, train, and motivate for individual productivity and responsibility; and how to use people-based analytics to drive organizational productivity and sustainability.
Sustainable Behavior in Organizations
MBA
Examines organizational environmental sustainability from an individual-level perspective, and in doing so provides a mix of cutting-edge empirical findings and knowledge gleaned from practical applications of organizational behavior and human resources research. Students gain a strong understanding of what it means to “be green” from an employee perspective. We discuss organizational interventions, leader vision, cross-cultural concepts of sustainability, and environmental deviance to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully integrate environmental, societal, and economic goals of organizations.
Fundamentals of Management
Undergraduate Level
Objectives include preparing potential managers, and enhancing the skills of existing managers, to deal with the changing demands of organizations in global environments. The emphasis is on the management process and the roles and challenges of managers in managing a culturally diverse workforce, increasing ethical awareness and social responsiveness, developing commitments to quality and productivity, and developing decision and interpersonal team building skills. In assignments and class exercises, students increase their ability to analyze, solve, and communicate solutions to practical problems managers face on the job. In addition, students increase their self-awareness and gain critical skills for a career in management through self-assessments and developmental exercises.

Mastering Management
Academic Director of the MCU-ZSB Executive Program
Corporate Learning at the Zicklin School of Business offers custom non-degree programs to help clients improve sustainable global competitiveness by preparing business people for roles of responsible leadership. The Zicklin School of Business partnered with Municipal Credit Union (MCU) to deliver a leader development program for two cohorts of managers at different levels in the organization. MCU is metro New York’s largest credit union.
In my role as Academic Director, I was responsible for the design process of the non‐degree curriculum, identifying and supervising teaching faculty, monitoring program quality, and defining and measuring learning outcomes.
Various Workshops
In addition to my university teaching, I regularly conduct executive workshops and seminars for managers and HR leaders on cutting-edge methods of personnel selection and staffing. Recent workshops were held in Mexico, Turkey, South Africa, Germany, and the US and included topics such as:

o Linking personality assessments to competency modeling
o Counterproductivity and integrity in the workplace
